CPDO Resources for Current Students

All current Western Law students have access to the Career & Professional Development Office (“CPDO”) Career Services Management (CSM) program called “Symplicity”. The site is password protected and requires students to login using their uwo email and the password provided to them by the CPDO. All first year students will be given their password at the CPDO orientation session held during first year orientation.

 

What is Symplicity?

Symplicity is your one-stop shopping point that connects you with the CPDO, employers, peers, alumni and services provided by the CPDO. Symplicity is also an information source that will assist you in your career objectives.

 

What will you find in Symplicity?

You will find the following:

  • Information about career related events and sessions being held by the CPDO, joint ventures as well as off- site events and sessions designed for students’ with specific career objectives
  • Information on recruitment (i.e. regional recruitment information such as deadlines and procedures governing articling/summer positions etc.)
  • Resources (i.e. tips and advice on how to locate employers, draft application materials, ace the interview and manage offers, in addition to areas of law information,  instruction sheets, regional articling/summer booklets, and secondary electronic resources etc.)
  • Job postings, announcements, and much more.

 

How do I access Symplicity?

To access Symplicity, go to https://law-uwo-csm.symplicity.com/students

Type in your username (which is your full UWO email- example:jdoe@uwo.ca) and password in the "username" and "password" fields and click "Go"

 

How do I use Symplicity?

The CPDO has created the CPDO-Student Introduction to Symplicity (pdf), which will help you to navigate through Symplicity. 

The “CPDO-Student Introduction to Symplicity” document contains the following:

  • Setting up an account, if your password does not work
  • Setting up your profile
  • Booking a career consultation appointment with the CPDO
  • The Document Library
  • Events
  • Jobs I qualify for and much more

The key to meeting your legal career goals is by being proactive during your time here at law school by attending and using the resources available to you.
