This is a voluntary competition, open to students in all years. The purpose of the competition is to develop students' skills in interviewing and counselling clients. Practising lawyers assess the competitors and other students play the role of clients. The competition is held within the Faculty of Law, and is sponsored by the Toronto firm of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. The winners of the intramural competition compete in the regional final, and possibly the national and international competitions. The annual Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) LLP Client Counselling Competition was held at the law school on November 15, 2010. After a very close final round, Jonathan Thoburn and Blake Pronk emerged

Mighton emerged as the winners of this year’s competition. They will go
on as Western’s entry in the regional rounds of the ABA Client
Counselling Competition held in February. Western Law would like to
