Lenczner Slaght Advocacy Competition in Legal Ethics and Professionalism

The Lenczner Slaght Advocacy Competition in Legal Ethics and Professionalism is open to teams of two first-year students.  It is held each year in late March or early April.  It consists of one preliminary round for each team, a final round for the top two teams, and a reception and dinner for all competitors.  The competition takes the form of an appeal of a regulatory or judicial decision involving issues of legal ethics and professionalism.  It is not a research competition and the students do not prepare written materials: the focus is on oral advocacy.  Lenczner Slaght Royce Smith Griffin LLP is based in Toronto and has been consistently recognized as one of Canada’s premier litigation practices.
