Students will pay regular tuition at Western University while on an exchange. Students may also be required to pay supplementary fees of an incidental nature at the host university (ie. computer lab, legal society, health insurance, etc.) A non-refundable exchange placement fee of $125.00 is required for all Western students participating in an exchange program. This fee is to be covered by the student and will be payable after an offer is accepted. Students who are receiving OSAP or other student loans are responsible for making necessary arrangements at the UWO Student Financial Services Office (Student Central in the new Student Services Building) before leaving on exchange. A bursary may be available to help defray some expenses. In past years, students who completed the on-line application form provided by Western's Student Financial Services Office were considered for a bursary. There is no guarantee that bursaries will be provided, nor the amount that may be available. Western's Global Opportunities Awards - New scholarships available to Western students participating in an international learning opportunity (including exchange programs). (Up to $2000) British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association (BUTEX) - Scholarship opportunity for exchange programs at Nottingham and Leeds. "The exchange experience affords the opportunity to learn far beyond the four walls of the classroom. The opportunity to travel to foreign and exotic locations, both for study and for personal reasons exposes students to alternate ways of thinking and approaches to problems." -- Sherri Matta, Winter 2009 exchange at the National University of Singapore
