Essay Requirement: Both the Faculty of Law and the IPIT Area of Concentration require students to take a course with an essay component. The following courses in the IPIT area have evaluation allowing students to meet the Area (and Faculty) essay requirement: Special Topic: Pharmaceutical & Health Regulation, Comparative Copyright, Healthcare Law & Policy, and Global Issues in Intellectual Property. Taking one of these courses is enough to fulfil both the Faculty of Law and the IPIT Area of Concentration essay requirement.

1: Since enrolment in the Fox Intellectual Property Moot is by application and subsequent selection, anyone wishing to enrol in this course should enrol in another January-term course first, until enrolment in the Fox Intellectual Property Moot is confirmed.

2: Note that although taking a course with a “Satisfies Group X” requirement designation is enough to meet the requirement for a particular group, students are more than welcome to take more than one course in the given group if they wish.

3: Winner of USC Teaching Honour Roll for teaching “Advanced Intellectual Property”

Note: Offered courses are open to anyone with an interest in Intellectual Property or Information Law, not just those students wishing to have Intellectual Property and Information law as an area of concentration. Indeed, students with interests outside of intellectual property and information law, especially those who wish to practice business law, will benefit from gaining familiarity with intellectual property and information law matters.
