Professor Jeremy Waldron of New York University delivered the 2009 Coxford Lecture to a full house at Western Law on November 12. Waldron explored the meaning of highly-charged terms in contemporary debate about the treatment of prisoners and detainees. The Lecture entitled "Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment: The Words Themselves" will be published in the Canadian Journal of Law and Jurisprudence in 2010. This lecture series is made possible by a generous gift from Stephen R. Coxford ‘77, a member of Western’s Board of Governors.
