Legate & Associates LLP Renews Sponsorship of Public Lectures

The Tort Law Research Group is pleased to announce that the London firm of Legate & Associates LLP has renewed its sponsorship of its public lectures for the 2013-14 academic year.  These lectures allow students, faculty and the broader community to learn from national and international experts in tort law. Past speakers have included Professors Arthur Ripstein and Ernest Weinrib  (University of Toronto), Professor Lewis Klar (University of Alberta), and Justice Robert Sharpe from the Ontario Court of Appeal.

This year's public lectures will be delivered by Ellen Bublick (the Dan B. Dobbs Professor of Law at the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers School of Law) and Robert Stevens (the Herbert Smith Freehills Professor of English Private Law at the University of Oxford).

“We are excited to have two of the world's leading torts scholars coming to Western Law this year,” said Professor Erika Chamberlain, of the Research Group's executive committee. "Legate & Associates' sponsorship is critical in attracting these high-profile scholars to Western."

Legate & Associates was founded by Barbara Legate in 1996 and has since developed a reputation as Southwestern Ontario's leading personal injury law firm among its peers and as a thorough, caring and effective advocate among its clientele.
